Irl is a lifelong Alaskan, born in Ketchikan and raised in Juneau. He served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam veteran (1968-1969). Irl's law enforcement career includes 22 years of service with the Anchorage Police Department (1971-1993) where he retired as Patrol Captain. He established the Wasilla Police Department in 1993 and served as its first Chief of Police until 1997. Irl obtained international police experience by serving with the UN Police in Bosnia (1997-1998). Returning to Alaska, Irl served as the Executive Director of the Alaska Police Standards Council (1999-2003) and also worked North Slope Security with Purcell (2003-2007). Irl provides executive level experience and expertise in all aspects of professional law enforcement development and support. We are very pleased that Irl Stambaugh and Investigative Services are now associates of Russell Consulting, LLC. |
